The mission of the Office of Support for Teacher Education Programs and Global Student Teaching is to provide quality service to the students, school districts, The College, faculty and staff. We will assist and support The College of New Jersey, School of Education, the Professional Development School Network and partnering schools in an effort to improve teaching and learning.
We will support the development of exemplary professionals by supporting the delivery of the clinical field experience placement of our teacher candidates at home and abroad, and will facilitate the delivery of in-service training of educators in collaboration with The College faculty and Professional Development School Network.
Expectations
Clients can expect from the Office of Support for Teacher Education Programs and Global Student Teaching:
- Prompt, friendly and courteous service, and support of teacher education programs;
- Returned telephone calls or email responses the same day and no later than 24 hours;
- Accurate and timely clinical field placement of teacher candidates at home and abroad;
- Maintenance of an up-to-date STEP website displaying all forms, polices and handbooks related to clinical field experience;
- Effective communication and collaboration with partner schools, PDSN, The College faculty, staff, and students; and
- Continual assessment of STEP Office and Global Student Teaching policies and procedures which will be in accordance with New Jersey Administrative code and School of Education policy and practice.
